The ceramic industry, depressed
This is what transmits the Industrial Confidence Indicator of Castellón based on a survey conducted by the Economic Research Department of the Chamber of Commerce for the fourth quarter of 2012 and the outlook for January to March 2013. In the study, carried out in the month of January, 146 companies of the ceramic sector have participated.
The survey results indicate that the Industrial Confidence Indicator expected for the beginning of this 2013 is five points more unfavorable than for the same time period last year. However, not everything is negative, since it is eleven points higher than the last quarter of 2012.
For this present year are forecast important advances in production, orders from customers and exports. In fact, the ceramic industry is fully aware that its future lies in exports, which incidentally is the only variable with a positive and consolidated track record in the ceramic sector.
In terms of sectors, frits, glazes and ceramic colors (ceramic design in general) are on the rise. Ceramics for now continues in the doldrums.
