Castellón exports grow again
Good news for the ceramic industry in Castellon, and in general, for the whole province: exports during the first half of 2013 have grown back. The sectors that have experienced the most growth are ceramic products (especially inkjet designs), frits and ceramic glazes and citrus (basically oranges). In overall numbers, exports from the port of Castellón increased by 42% in the period between January and June this year.
According to data from the Foreign Trade Report, Castellón closed the first half of 2013 with the following export figures: 1,160 million euros in exports of ceramic products (up 10%), 380 million euros in exports of frits and glazes (up 1.6%) and 1,185 million euros for citrus exports (up 7%).
Moreover, if we analyze the total of the Valencian Community, the numbers in the province of Castellón are not as good. During the first half of the year, exports of Valencia and Alicante grew much more. Nationally speaking, while the average is 8%, Castellón only gets 5.3%.
